Speaker Richardson Appoints Special Committee to Study Certificate of Need
Committee Led by Sharon Cooper and Mark Burkhalter

ATLANTA – Speaker Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) announced today that he has appointed a special House committee to study certificate of need in the health community.

“This is a serious, complicated issue that needs to be solved,” said Richardson. “I can see both sides of the argument, and it is my hope that this committee will find a solution to the issue which will serve the health care interests of Georgia's citizens.”

The officers of the committee are:

Chairman: Sharon Cooper (R-Marietta)
Vice Chairman: Mark Burkhalter (R-Alpharetta)
Secretary: Mickey Channell (R-Greensboro)
